Dear Fellow Rotarians
Diwali, the Festival of Lights is already behind us, and we all have thoroughly enjoyed
its warmth and joy. October was indeed a month of meaningful action and
celebration — filled with community service projects that brought our Club visibility,
pride, and satisfaction and also had lot of Fellowship.
Our Flood Relief Appeal, launched just before Diwali, raised nearly 21.75 lakh within a week through generous contributions from fellow Rotarians. The funds were promptly handed over to three reputed organizations —Jankalyan Samiti (Pune), Ganesh Mandir Sansthan (Dombivli), and Udyog Vardhini (Solapur) — all known for their committed and credible on-ground relief work. This timely support ensured that help reached the affected areas right before the festival.
Another impactful initiative was our Snake Awareness Project. In collaboration with a local snake rescue organization, we compiled vital information on snakes, snakebites, and emergency first-aid — presented in a simple and visual format. This was displayed at the Rotary Children's Park and widely shared on WhatsApp. This gave our Club excellent public recognition.
October, being the month of festivals, was also filled with wonderful family fellowship events on Kojagiri and Diwali. Two wonderful music programs were arranged by team and all our enthusiastic families enjoyed both these to the core.
Our post Diwali trip — “Unseen Konkan and South Goa” — was a truly unforgettable experience. Thirty- four Rotarians and families participated in this road trip that began on 25th October from Rotary Bhavan. The journey took us through some of the hidden gems of Konkan, away from the usual crowded tourist routes. The organizing committee did a splendid job in curating the route and planning every detail meticulously. The Volvo travel through lush green ghats, rich in flora and fauna, was an experience of a lifetime. These are places rarely visited by individual tourists or tour operators — and the trip made my long-cherished dream come true. My heartfelt thanks to the entire team and all participants for their wholehearted support.
Now, as we step into November — The Rotary Foundation (TRF) Month, let us remember that Giving is Living, and Rotarians truly embody this spirit of generosity. Qur TRF Director, Rtn, Abhay Kulkarni, will be reaching out to you for your valuable support, Over the past three years, our Club has successfully executed several mega projects through Global Grants and CSR partnerships — the result of our earlier contributions coming back to us as greater opportunities for service. This year, we already have project
plans amounting to nearly %75 lakhs through local CSR and an equivalent amount through Global Grants. Every contribution, however small, strengthens our District's DDF and enables many more impactful initiatives in the years ahead.
As we also observe Rotary Service Week this month, | request your active participation and whole-hearted support inevery way possible,
Let us continue to Enjoy Service, Enjoy Rotary! Senne

“The Foundation That Builds a Better Tomorrow”
November is celebrated across the Rotary world as Ratary Foundation Month — a
time to honor the heart that keeps Rotary beating strong. The Rotary Foundation is
net just a fund; it is the engine of transformation, turning our compassion into
concrete action and our ideas into impact.
Every project we see — whether it’s eradicating polio, empowering women, providing clean water, promoting peace, or advancing education — finds its roots in the vision of The Rotary Foundation. It converts every contribution, big or small, into hope, health, and opportunity for those who need it most. The Foundation works on a simple principle: the more we give, the more we grow — as Rotarians, and as human beings. Through programs like Global Grants, District Grants, and Scholarships, it enables clubs like ours to create sustainable, large-scale projects that go beyond local boundaries.
At Retary Club of Dambivll East (RCDE), we have witnessed the ripple effect of this generosity. From health camps to mental wellness drives, from educational aid to community upliftment — many of our initiatives have flourished because of the Foundation’s support. It is truly the bridge between goodwill and global good.
The spirit of the Foundation aligns beautifully with Rotary’s Four-Way Test and even with Maslow’s higher levels of growth — giving us purpose, fulfillment, and the joy of self-actualization through service.
This November, let us all renew our commitment to The Rotary Foundation. Encourage members, friends, and families to contribute, however small the amount may be. Because together, these contributions shape the world’s future — one project, one community, one act of kindness at a time.
Rotary Foundation: Doing Good inthe World, One Heart ata Time.

Understanding Grants of The Rotary Foundation
The Rotary Foundation gives four types of grants. District Grant, Global Grant, Disaster Response Grant, and Program of Scale Grant. District and Global grants are directly awarded to clubs, while the latter two are generally awarded to the district and implemented through clubs.
District Grant District grants are awarded by the district from the DDF received by TRF. The district decides the strategy for awarding and utilizing it, based on available grant funds. It is a minimum of USD 1000 and is used for small projects.
Global Grant
A Global Grant is financial support from The Rotary Foundation (TRF) for large, long-lasting projects that bring real, sustainable change in communities — especially in areas like health, education, water, livelihood, peace, and the environment.
Basic Requirements
Significant and Long-Lasting Impact — The project should deliver lasting benefits—not just temporary help.
Fits into Rotary's Seven Areas of Focus — Peace and conflict resolution; Disease prevention and treatment; Water, sanitation, and hygiene; Maternal and child health; Basic education and literacy; Community economic development; Environment.
Two Rotary Partners — One Host Club (in the project country) and one International Partner Club (from another country). Both share planning, funding, and reporting responsibilities.
Minimum Total Budget: USD 30,000 — The entire project, from all sources, must be at least this amount. Community Need Assessment — The project must be based on a genuine local need, verified through study and consultation.
Sustainability — Benefits should continue after Rotary's direct role ends — e.g., by training local people to maintain facilities.
Proper Financial Management — Maintain a separate bank account, keep receipts, and ensure complete transparency.
Regular Reporting — Progress and final reports must be submitted to TRF.
Qualified Clubs — Both clubs must be qualified by their District annually by attending a Grants Management Seminar and signingan MOU,
Active Rotarian Involvement — Rotarians should actively plan, monitor, and evaluate — not just contribute funds.

How Global Grant Funding Works: Only DDF (District Designated Funds) are matched by TRF. + DODF is matched at 80% by the World Fund. * Club or personal cash is not matched, but adds to the total project value.
Key Rules:
There is no fixed minimum from the World Fund — it depends on the total DDF,
The international partner's contribution (cash + DDF) must be at least 15% of total project funding. Total project cost must be at least USD 30,000.
Example of a typical Global grant project of total cost of USD 24600.
International share 2159 World Fund = 20% of total DDF
With the contribution of USD 8000 by the Host Club ,they are doing the project worth USD 34600.
RCDE has done three global grants in recent years. It shows how the contribution of club multiples with award of Global Grant.
1S Child Heart Sargertes at Shvi mo Sais £12,735
All figures are in INF RCDE's contributionis multiplied to 9 times.

To A New India... Happy Birthday!!!
Ifa nation could be born again, what would we wish it to become? | Would it be richer, fairer, cleaner, kinder or perhaps, simply more honest? | It is easy to believe that a country is too vast to change or too complex to fix. After all, what difference can one person really make? Yet, every great transformation in history began with individuals. Ordinary people who chose to live by extraordinary values. Real progress doesn't emerge from revolutions, slogans, or policies alone. It begins quietly, in the daily conduct of its citizens; in how we speak, behave, and uphold whatis right when no one iswatching. Anation's rebirth doesn't come fromchaos; it comes from character.
If India were to start anew today, her strength would not lie in her wealth or weapons, but in her people's integrity, their civic discipline, and their respect for the law. Three timeless virtues that have the power to rebuild not just systems, but the very soul of asociety.
History has shown us that nations can indeed be reborn through revolutions. Yet, revolutions, when not guided by collective discipline and integrity, often come at a heavy price. We've seen it in our neighbourhood how Nepal, once shaken by years of political instability, and Sri Lanka, recently crippled by economic collapse and civil unrest. Both nations sought change, but turmoil left them with deep scars: falling currencies, unemployment, distrust, and migration. India’s rebirth, therefore, doesn't need rebellion. it needs resolve; the steady, everyday resolve of citizens who choose to live with honesty, discipline, and respect for the law.
Integrity is the simplest, yet most powerful civic virtue. It is doing what's right, even when no one is watching. Whether it's refusing to pay a bribe, returning extra change, or standing by the truth in a difficult situation. Integrity shapes trust, and trust builds nations.
Rotary's Four-Way Test begins with one powerful question: “Is it the TRUTH?” If every citizen asked this before acting, corruption would fade faster than any government reform could promise. Integrity doesn't just make honest people; it makes dependable systems. A nation full of honest citizens needs fewer laws, fewer enforcers, and consequently, faces fewer conflicts. Every small act of truthfulness contributes to the moral wealth of the nation.
Discipline is the quiet heartbeat of every great nation. It's visible not in its speeches, but should be evident its streets; in how citizens behave when there's no one to supervise them.
Every time we stop at a red light, wait our turn in a queue, or resist the urge to litter, we express something powerful, respect for others. Civic discipline is not about control; it's about cooperation.
Unfortunately, in recent times, Indians have begun earning an unwanted reputation for poor civic behaviour; from reckless driving to disrespect for public spaces. Even when these incidents are rare, social media amplifies

them, tuming individual lapses into viral spectacles that reflect poorly on us as a nation. A single video of a street argument, a broken traffic rule, or a public braw/ travel faster than a thousand quiet acts of good conduct.
Countries like Japan and Singapore thrive because discipline is part of their cultural DNA. lin India too, progress doesn't need more rules. It needs more responsibility. As Rotarians say, Service Above Self begins not ingrand gestures, but in small, consistent acts that place the community above the individual.
Laws are not chains that restrict freedom; they are the guardrails that keep a society fair and secure. When citizens follow the law, whether it involves paying taxes honestly, following traffic rules, or maintaining civic order, they help strengthen the invisible spine of democracy. But when laws are ignored or twisted for personal gain, that spine begins to weaken, and trust within the system collapses for everyone.
Respect for law is not about fear; it is about faith. It reflects our belief that justice and fairness work best when upheld by all, not enforced upon a few. A law-abiding citizen preserves peace today and ensures justice for generations to come. This idea perfectly aligns with Rotary International's core values. Rotary stands for Integrity, which demands honesty in action; Service Above Self, which calls for responsibility toward others; and Leadership by Example, which inspires ethical citizenship.
We often say we want better governance. But good governance begins with good citizenship. Following rules is not submission. It's self-respect for the country we call home, or our beloved motherland. Real transformation doesn't come from anger; it comes from awareness. Revolutions may light fires, but resolve builds futures.
Integrity ensures truth in our decisions.
Discipline ensures order in our actions.
Respect for law ensures justice in oursociety.
This leads us to a simple framework each of us can implement to start to “Be the change you wish to see in the world”.
The Citizen's Oath
Let every Indian, be it a student, professional, Rotarian, or homemaker, or anyone who deeply loves India, | hope we take this personal oath:
* I willbe honest, even whenit's hard. ° | will be disciplined, even when no one notices. e I will respect the law, even when it's inconvenient.
That is how countries are truly rebuilt: one honest, aware, and responsible citizen at a time. Every great army, every powerful movement, every lasting change begins with one individual who decides to act with courage and conviction. Revolutions may shake systems, but only quiet resolve rebuilds societies.
Let us make Integrity our identity, Discipline our daily habit, and Respect for Law our shared pramise. In doing so, we not only fulfil our duty as citizens but also live the ideals that define Rotary International: integrityin action, service above self, and leadership through example.

Drashti’s Smart Million Rupee Journey ...
Orashti, a 38-year-old doctor living im Munibai, had saved ®1 crore from years of hard work and disciplined investing. Instead af locking the énting amount in ane place, she decided to structure her money intelligently to create long-term wealth and financial freedom.
She divided her 21 crore into two mutual fund portfolios. Fund 1, 750 lakh in a SIP growing steadily at 12% annual returns, was left untouched to build her future corpus. Fund 2, another 50 lakh, was placed in an SWP that gave her %50,000 monthly withdrawals.
Drashti then took a 350 lakh home loan at 8% interest. The 450,000 she received monthly from her SWP comfortably covered her &43,000 home loan EMI, allowing her to own a beautiful 2BHK apartment in Mumbai without touching her salary.
Thinking ahead, she weed Fund 1 as collateral te take 2 235 lakh loan and purchased a small commercial shop. The shop rent, along with her house rent, easily covered the EMI for this loan. Over time, her properties began generating steady rental income, and she stillhad &7,000 monthly surplus trom the SWE.
Twenty years later, both her home and commercial loans were cleared. Her investments had grown exponentially — Fund 1 had become %4.8 crore and Fund 2 274 lakh, The values of her hone and shap had multiplied many times over, and the rental income now served as pure profit.
Drashti had turned her 1 crore savings into. a powerful ecosystem of wealth — combining assets, steady cash flow, and long-term financial security.
Moral: Through smart structuring and disciplined planning, Drashti proved that money, when guided wisely, can work tirelessly toward every goal — home, income, and prosperity.

Does Al Killing our Creativity
Inthe age of artificial Intelligence, Chatgpt or any other information app, has become 4 digital help for thousands of the people around the world. It can give us the answers. or the solution in a flick of seconds. It can be the guide and the tutors with full of knowledge. Any simple to complex problems can be solved ina flick of seconds. But as
with agreat invention there is always a boon and bane.
With the Chatgpt the students can make a notes or school project with little or no difficulties, In the remate where the children have limited resource that time it plays an important as a teacher, guide and assistance. The children who could not efforts for a tuition or classes, Chatgpt has become a God gift.
But at the same time there is a worry as it may take away the creativity and the reasoning skill from the students. The students stop using their brain for any information understanding that they will get it ready from Chatgpt. Yes the worry is acceptable but if you see the Chatgpt not everyone get the same result for same question. It varies from person to person. The main reason is the prompt. The more clarity in giving the prompt the more accurate you will get the answer. So by this we understand that we have to use our creativity in giving the prompt. So Chatgpt is not killing the creativity but it ic companion. We need to understand that human intelligence is more powerful that the artificial intelligence. It is human
intelligence this has made Al not the vice versa.
If we see the time line Al is introduced long back its only recently its use has
increase. Because that time the
computer was not that strong and
there was very less data available to feed in the Al. You can own your own and expand your own Chatgpt by
inputting you're prompt.
